The Australasian Birth Trauma Association (ABTA) is Australia's peak organisation dedicated to helping to prevent, diagnose, and treat birth-related trauma. The ABTA listens to the voice of the consumer and responds to the unmet needs of birthing families across Australia. Since 2016, the ABTA has helped increase awareness and understanding of birth-related trauma and worked to improve maternity services to ensure people living with birth-related trauma have the best care and quality of life as possible. Whether you’re preparing for birth, healing from birth, or supporting a birthing person, the ABTA is here to help. Our vision is for physically and psychologically safer births, and better postnatal care.
The Australian Multiple Birth Association (AMBA) supports families with twins, triplets or more though the health and emotional challenges they face – the key ones being premature birth and mental health risks. We do this by linking families to a support network with other local multiple birth families, providing education and resources, and advocating on behalf of parents of multiples with the aim to enable positive health outcomes and equality for multiple birth families.
