SRC Recovery garments aid in the treatment of

  • C-section wounds,
  • Perineal trauma,
  • Episiotomy wounds,
  • Abdominal muscle separation (Diastasis Rectus Abdominus Muscle DRAM),
  • Lower back pain.

Designed with anti-chafing fabric and in consultation with an obstetrician for the ultimate in comfort and functionality, SRC Recovery Shorts provide the support you need to heal and move more freely post-delivery. See below for more information

What’s the difference between a postpartum belly band or belly wrap after pregnancy and the SRC Recovery Shorts?

Unlike postpartum belly bands, SRC Recovery Shorts can treat multiple conditions, are more comfortable to wear and are more likely to be worn for longer periods  therefore increasing their effectiveness.

Muscle deactivation will occur if you pull the postpartum belly band too tight when putting it on.  Postpartum belly bands should only be worn for short periods, 2-3 hours to prevent deactivation of your muscles.

Seem good

Unfortunately the seam in these shorts sits right on my emergency c section incision so i can't wear them as it causes discomfort. At first I thought it was a sizing issue but my physio let me try on the next size up and its the same. They seem supportive though so I can understand why they are so popular!

Some discomfort

I can see the quality of make in this product, However they cause me a fair bit of discomfort. So much so that I remove them after a few hours of wear. But I still keep trying. It’s been 2.5 weeks now that I’ve been waiting to feel comfortable enough for all day use.

The band that sits high across your ribs is hard like plastic, so consider if that would annoy you. Saying this though when I put them on I feel “pulled together” in all the right places.

Most of my discomfort come from the top waist line and around my perineum where my stitches are. I feel no pain from my stitches in normal underwear, the pants seem to amplify any irritation on my stitches.

I measured exactly as recommended using somebody else to help. And fell clearly into the medium category.

Postage was exceptionally fast.

All in all, still trying to make up my mind if I would recommend.

Worth the money!

In my first pregnancy with twins, I had an emergency c-section I couldn't afford to buy these recovery shorts and decided it was go without. It was too expensive and decided that the money would go a long way with raising the twins. The recovery was long, I ended up with long term lower back pain, continence issues and abdominal separation of over 2cm.

Fast forward 5 years later, my second pregnancy (with a singleton) I am faced with no other option but another c-section. Being older and I'd dare say wiser, (but no richer)… I bought a pair of mini recovery shorts ($30 off but had to pay for shipping which came to $171, put it on afterpay, like everything else lol) and packed them with my hospital bag.

After the c-section and when the spinal had worn off its effects. I was in a whole lot of pain, which resulted from a lot of bruising around the uterus. I was unable to get out of bed without assistance and was on a whole lot of pain killers to help numb the pain. As the bruising started to subside, and it was no longer tender to the touch I decided to put on my SRC mini shorts. For the first time in days was I able to walk around the house without holding onto the walls. I was no longer crouching my back. I was able to roll out of bed without pain. I even went as far as reducing my pain medication.

I definitely recommend SRC mini shorts @srchealth it's an essential item to include in your hospital bag. Definitely, worth the money! No regrets!

I would not have the independence…

Thank you so much for sharing your beautiful experience of how the SRC garment has helped you with your C-section recovery Theresa. It is so wonderful to read through the stage when you’re about to start wearing the garment and how it becomes a second skin to you. We look forward to your review of the garment effectiveness on continence and abdominal muscle separation and to add, to address your abdominal muscle separation, we recommend that you wear them day and night for a period of 3 to 4 months in conjunction with seeing a women's health physiotherapist that runs a pilates program. Combination of specific pilates and our garment will significantly help reduce muscle separation and allow you to heal. Your rating and review Theresa is inspiring to a lot of women including us, the SRC Team. Wishing you all the best.

Unable to wear 3 weeks postpartum

Unfortunately the shorts more directly putting in and taking off the shorts has created surface level tearing in my c section as confirmed by 2 + doctors which has me feeling horrific pain. I was cleared prior at 3 weeks postpartum to wear the shorts and the size worn is exactly by measurements as guided by this site yet still suffered painful c section tearing and also can no longer lift including baby for the next 1 until another assessment. Would suggest further guidance and warnings for c section users.

Hi Sarah,
We are sad to hear that our Recovery garment has been anything but a perfect support for your postpartum journey.
We would guess that in your case, which is extremely rare, the seams of the garment have lined up with your C-section incision?
Although the flatlock seams of the garment should cause no irritation, we recommend that you lift the garment over the C-section wound when putting on and when taking the garment off, you fold the elastic over the top and roll down.
You can also protect the C-section scar by placing a pure cotton maternity pad over it.
We value your feedback and will do everything we can to highlight this point more in the existing Wear and Care instructions and the website Recovery product pages as well as the FAQ’s.
Our team will be in contact with you shortly to assist with an exchange or refund.
Wishing you a speedy recovery.
